1. What we collect
1.1 Account information
Your username and email address, and an avatar image if you add one. If you sign in with Google or Discord, they share your email address and basic profile with us. We keep your login sessions and, if you turn it on, two-factor authentication settings.
1.2 Sim and telemetry data
Raw telemetry (every input and sample from your sim) stays on your computer. It leaves your computer only when you choose to: when you submit a lap to the public leaderboard, or share a lap with a team you belong to, where only your teammates can see it.
When you are signed in, PitLabs also saves a short summary of each session to your account so your history follows you across devices: the sim, car and track, when the session ended, the number of laps, your best lap time and how long you drove. It does not include the telemetry itself.
1.3 Setup Labs (AI engineer) data
When you use Setup Labs, the setup you are working on, the relevant session context and your messages are sent to Anthropic's Claude to produce a reply. We keep usage counts to apply the weekly allowance, and ratings and feedback you give on replies so we can improve them.
1.4 Optional sharing (off unless you turn it on)
Crowd learning. Unless you turn it off in Settings, PitLabs shares anonymous setup facts so the engineer gets better for everyone: the sim, car and track; the values you use for each setting; measured results such as "this change, this lap-time difference" and how a setup change moved the car's balance; and, for PitLabs Meta, the setup values you set your best lap on together with that best lap time and your minimum speed in each corner. This includes summaries of your own past sessions that the sims already keep on your PC (for example iRacing's telemetry folder): those files are read on your computer and are never uploaded, and recordings of other drivers' laps found there are skipped. None of this includes your user ID, your name, your setup names or raw telemetry, and it is linked only to a random key that changes every month.
Lap traces. Unless you turn off "Share lap traces" (or crowd learning) in Settings, PitLabs also sends one downsampled trace of your best lap per car, track and session (speed, throttle, brake, steering, gear, rpm, tyre temperatures and position on the track) together with the setup it was driven on and the lap time. It is linked only to the same monthly random key, never to your account or name, and is used to train and test the engineer. Only the fastest 200 laps per car, track and conditions are kept.
Reporting poor answers. If you opt in, replies you mark as wrong are sent to us with the conversation they came from, so we can fix the cause.
1.5 Billing data
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We keep only your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan and when it renews or ends.
1.6 Technical and usage data
App version, the number and type of AI requests, and standard server logs. Diagnostic logs stay on your computer unless you send them to us, for example with a bug report.
Usage statistics. Unless you turn off "Share usage statistics" in Settings, the app tells us when it is open (a short check-in every few minutes), its version, which sim is connected, whether you are on Free or Pro, and which features you use, such as recording a lap, opening a replay, turning on an overlay or asking Setup Labs. Each event carries a random ID for your installation and, when you are signed in, your account. It never includes your chats, setups, telemetry or IP address. We use it to see how many people use PitLabs and what to improve, and delete individual events after 90 days.
2. How we use your data
To run PitLabs and its features, to show the community features you take part in (leaderboards and teams), to improve Setup Labs, to manage your subscription, to prevent abuse and to give you support. We do not sell your personal data or use it for third-party advertising.
3. Who we share it with
We use these service providers to run PitLabs: Supabase (database, accounts and storage), Stripe (payments), Anthropic (Setup Labs replies), Resend (email), Vercel (website hosting), and Google and Discord (only if you sign in with them). Public leaderboard entries show your username, avatar, lap time, car, track and conditions to everyone.
4. Your choices and rights
You can turn off leaderboard submission and the optional sharing in Settings, leave teams at any time, and permanently delete your account and its data from the Danger Zone in Settings. To ask for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, email privacy@pitlabs.app. If you are in the EU, UK or California, you have rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR or CCPA, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.
5. How long we keep it
Account data and session summaries are kept while your account is active and removed within about 30 days of deleting it, apart from billing records we must keep by law. Laps shared with a team are deleted automatically after 120 days. Recordings on your computer stay until you clear them.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Database access is restricted per user by row-level security, and the desktop app stores your login session encrypted on your computer.
7. International transfers
Our providers run infrastructure in several regions. Where data leaves the EU or UK, transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Children
PitLabs is for people aged 16 and over. If you think a younger person has an account, tell us at support@pitlabs.app and we will remove it.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
